Melina Marchetta (1965)

According her vocation and culture, Melina Marchetta dedicates most of her occupation as a teacher and writer to the “third generation” of the youth of Italian origin. Born in Australia, she visited many countries and explored their cultures. The title of her first book, in the Italian edition, explicates her constant engagement, both critical and affective, with her origins and ancestors. There’s no doubt that her job will lead Melina Marchetta to analyse and write about the less young representatives of the “third generation” and, why not?, to investigate the relationships among the various communities of Italian origins.
